In addition to your personal information, when you use our website, we may collect tracking information such as your browser type, the type of operating system you use, the name of your internet service provider and pages visited on the site.

Prospects gets this information by using technologies, including cookies, to increase the functionality and user-friendliness of our website and to better tailor our website to your needs. For example, we may want to know how long the average user spends on our website or which pages get the most attention. Information such as this will only be used in aggregate form and does not identify you personally.

You may, at any time, request a copy of the data Prospects hold on you, free of charge, by emailing privacy@prospects.ac.uk.

How your information is used

We collect information on our users for a variety of purposes:

If you apply for a job while logged in to your account, we will store a copy of your CV so you can access it easily, should you wish to apply for other jobs on the site. Stored CVs are not used for any other purpose other than the user's convenience.

Your registration information will also enable you to log into the prospects.ac.uk website and use its services. For this reason, you must also read and accept the prospects.ac.uk privacy policy. The prospects.ac.uk privacy policy is available here.

Your information will not be used for any purpose other than mentioned in these two policies. We may however, disclose or access your account if required to do so by law.

Use of cookies

We use "cookies" to identify you when you use the service and to build up a demographic profile. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web server to a web browser, which enables the server to collect information back from the browser. Cookies are a means whereby small pieces of information can be stored either on your local disc (persistent cookies) or in your computer's memory (per-session cookies). The service uses per-session cookies to store only your service login information so that you can move around the site and use the site's services without having to login each time. When you close down the browser per-session cookies are destroyed. Our use of cookies also allows registered users to be presented with a personalised version of the site.
